The film is "la pluie d'espoir" (Rain Of Hope) directed by Jacques Roc. Jacques is a Haitian who lives and works in New York City. He's been shooting his Haitian epic for the past 2 years, and the end is finally in sight. His last scheduled shoot days are the early part of next week and he'll be loaning us several pieces of equipment--and his house for 3 of our foreign crew members to sleep. He also hooked us up with 6 of his crew, all in critical positions, who are willing to work on PITIT MWEN. His generosity will be a saving grace for our production, and it will enable us to use high end grip and lighting equipment without having to purchase it from the US. We hear he's running a few days behind schedule, but he's still due to be finished next week. Stay tuned as I'm sure there will be more on this issue as it gets closer to our Zero Day on 4 Mar 05.

Jacques Roc - Director/Producer
Jacques Roc entered the jingle industry at the age of 16 with his first music composition for Trans-Caribbean Airlines. Later he became an Agency Producer with Lockhart & Pettus, a leading advertising agency in New York . At the same time, Jacques formed his production company, Jacques Roc Productions, specializing in producing radio and television commercials for major corporate entities in the United States and abroad. Jacques also composed original jingles and musical scores for spots. He has directed and produced such celebrities as: Gerald Levert, Danny Glover and Malcolm Jamal Warner. He co-produced original jingles involving Whitney Houston, Ray Charles and Michael Jackson.
Jacques Roc has directed and produced over 180 television commercials and public service announcements for companies like Pfizer, Chase, Chrysler, Carson Products, NYC Dept of Health, Tiger Balm and Gaseteria. A press release in 1995 denoted Jacques Roc to be a “triple threat man”, being director, producer and composer for the television spot. The talent was Gerald Levert.
As a composer and music producer, Jacques Roc has written countless jingles for corporations such as the U.S. Army, Bayer, McCormick Foods, Publix, Pepsico, Citibank, KFC, American Cancer Society, Greyhound, Volvo and other giants. He recently created, produced and directed a well-acclaimed tv spot for Profectiv hair care product. Jacques also composed and produced the music score as well.
For Pluie d’Espoir, Jacques also wears the hats of Author, since he also wrote the script; and Music Composer and Arranger for the many songs and music scores he’s written and produced for the movie.
The director/producer of Pluie d’Espoir is no stranger to the dilemma of shooting in Haiti, for he has produced many television commercials and PSAs there.
