Smile of a Child exists as an ambassador of our Savior Jesus Christ to the children of the world. We are a a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization. The audited statement is available for inspection by appointment.

From the first time Jan visited the beautiful little island nation of Haiti and brought toys to the precious children, she will never forget the last little girl, who came running as fast as her little legs would carry her, only to find that there were no more toys left, and she would have to wait until Jan returned again to receive herheart's desire, a little doll... there are no words !But, oh, the smiles on those angel faces -- the joy in their eyes -- when they received a toy, in Jesus' name -- many of whom have never had a toy of their own before! The kingdom of heaven on earth... there are no works ! Then there was the visit to the "abandoned babies" hospital, when Jan held a precious child that was so weak from malnutrition and disease, the little one died in Jan's arms... there are no words !In Israel, in the Garden of Gethsamane, as Jan knelt and prayed: "Dear Jesus, what can I do for you?" Jesus spoke to Jan clearly to minister to the children of the world for Him, and tell them Jesus loves them ! --to let them have the joy of knowing His love! -- to let them see Jesus' love in the christians who have sent a toy just for them, in Jesus' name!Our on-going project of Smile of a Child is a year round effort to provide toys to thousands of hurting children in need around the world. Each toy will have the message of Jesus' love and the prayer of Salvation attached to each one.

Essentials for fostering a good relationship with overseas business partners:First, learn the language, or have someone on staff who does know it. (I have a friend, human resources manager of the southern hemisphere for largest elevator company in the world, who learned Japanese, Chinese, German, French and Spanish-enough of each to conduct business professionally and communicate effectively-he is based in Sydney, Australia.)Second, learn the culture of the country you're doing business with. (Find out about traditions, the people and land itself, and the history, especially where tradition is concerned.)Third, respect the people and the country, because when you have respect for them, they give that back to you. (This follows on ALL fronts, business, culture, tradition and the people themselves.)Fourth, be eager to learn...people in other countries live their lives differently from us, and do business a bit differently too, so observe, and utilize everything you learn. (One can never learn enough, especially from those so different from us in many ways, and so much like us in others!)
